Deuteronomy

Deuteronomy-Means second law.Moses wanted to remind the Isrealites of there history, and all that God had done for them. As God's chosen people they had laws they had to obey.
His first speech reminded the people of God's goodness.Moses' second speech was a summary of Gods laws including the ten commandments.He also told them to "love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all there strength" to enjoy Gods blessings.As we should do today.The people had to teach there children how to love the Lord and obey His commandments.
It is most thought of that Moses wrote this book.Except for the last chapter of the book.
Some of the things Deuteronomy discusses is-The command to leave Horeb 1:1-9,the appointment of leaders 1:9-18,spies sent out 1:19-25,Moses forbidden to cross the Jordon 3:21-29,Introduction to the law 4:44-49,the Ten Commandments 5:1-32(we will discuss the 10 commandments later on, so read up on them and learn them when you have a chance),Love the Lord your God 6:1-25,driving out the nations 7:1-26,do not forget the Lord 8:20,the golden calf 9:29,Love and obey the Lord 11:1-32, and many more things.

Numbers

Numbers- Is in the Old Testament and is the 4th book.It discusses the laws of the meat offerings,captains of tribes,the moving of the tabernacle,laws of the Nazarites,lighting of the lamps,concerns of the passover,the sending out of spies to search Canaan,law of inheritance,the water of separation.

attitude adjustment

Teaching the teens today we talked about attitude and how important it is to keep a good one.As Christians we need to keep a good attitude 24/7. People are watching us all the time. People who know we are Christians I think sometimes want us to slip. But we must keep a level head.There is a scripture I love to keep in my mind and that is "I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me" We must think of Christ at all times. Our attitudes must shine above everyone else's. It's easy to get mad and upset about things but it does'nt get us anywhere. When were tempted go to God in prayer. Leviticus

Leviticus-Discusses the laws of meat offerings,peace offerings,sin offerings,trepass offerings,laws of various offerings,clean and unclean meats,purification of women,signs and treatments of leprosy,unlawful marriage and lust,law of sexual conduct,laws of pristhood,laws of preisthood and offerings,seveth year sabbath,idolatry.

Exodus

Exodus-Discusses the birth of Moses,Call of Moses to deliver Isreal from bondage,Covenant renewed with Moses by God,The 10 plagues,crossing of the red Sea,The 10 commandments,The tabernacle is built,The Sabbath,the laws of offerings and burnt offerings.

Genesis

Genesis discusses the creation of heaven, earth, and man,the fall of man,cain and abel,the flood and Noah,God makes a covenant with Abraham,Birth of Isaac-the child of promise,Birth of Jacob and Esau,Birth of the 12 tribes of Israel,Joseph,The drought of Egypt,and the death of Jacob.

One other one we do is Give Me The Bible.
Give me the Bible holy message shining thy light shall guide me in the narrow way precept and promise ,law and love combining,till night shall vanish in eternal day.
Psalms 119:105 "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet,and a light unto my path."

Gods word the Bible is the food that feeds our faith,and gives us spiritual strength.
Here are a few tips in studying God's word.
A helpful key is to develop good habits,such as reading the word everytime you sit to eat your breakfest,lunch,or supper.Or every morning when you first get up.Or right before you go to bed at night.Time is not important,just remember to do it sometime during the day.
There are a number of ways to feed on God's word.Reading or listening to it.If you don't like to read try listening to a cassette.You can listen to them in your car or at home.
We all have busy schedules,and we must invest it wisely.We must make time for God.
Seeing the word,speaking the word,hearing the word, This is what builds our faith and keeps us strong spiritually.

Did you know the new testament has 181,253 words.
7959 verses.
260 chapters.
27 books.
The average reader(8 verses a minute)who spends 30 minutes a day can read the entire new testament through in 30 days? Do that every day and one would read the new testament through 12 times in 1 year. Do that for 10 years and one will have read the new testament through 120 times.

Fathers Day

4 Years ago my dad passed away because of cancer.I find that Fathers day is the hardest on me. I miss him very much.But I look at how much my life as changed since then,and I know he would be proud of me in the things I have accomplished. My dad was a great example in the things he said and did.I wish he were still around to tell him I love him. But I know he is in a better place. No more pain,no more suffering.I will go to visit him at the grave.If your dad is still alive please make it is dad and spend time with him. Take him out to dinner.Have a cook out. Even an ice cream.But go out and enjoy it.
You know we all have a Father who is very much alive, and that is our Father in heaven.Everyday should be Fathers day for him.We should always give him the honor and the praise.When you talk to him in your prayers tell him thanks for all he does.Because our God is ALIVE.

The Bible

How often do you read your Bible? Once a day? every other day? once a week? once a month? maybe every 6 months? maybe once a year? Or do you let it sit on your coffee table? and pick up the T.V. guide. I think you get my point. We find the Bible just about every where we go. The doctor's office. the denist.(sometimes I think we need to read it before we see the doctor for what he might say or do to us, possibly getting a tooth pulled)Anyway..........You see them in hotel rooms. My point is we need the Bible and we need to study it. I try to read the Bible every chance I get, I'm trying to read the whole bible through I am in Matthew. I also teach the teen class at where I attend church we started the first of the year and we are in Gensis. Will we read the whole thing this year? I doubt it but we are going to try. But first we must make that attempt. Don't have time? We must make time! We need to know what God is trying to tell us. This is the way He speaks to us. Do you know how many books there is in the Bible? Can you name them? Stay tuned and come back and will talk more about it.

I Know The Lord Will Find A Way For Me

The Lord never meant for us to find our own way through life. He is ready to show us the way; All we need to do is ask him for directions.
I like the song I know the Lord will find a way for me, in the song it says I know the Lord will find a way for me if I walk in heaven's light shun the wrong and do the right I now the Lord will find a way for me. and then the last verse say's won't it be grand do hear him say well done, if I walk in heaven's light shun the wrong and do the right, I know the Lord will find a way for me.
Also in 1 John 1 :7 "But if we walk in the light as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his son, purifies us from all sin.
And lastly you may say how do I ask for directions? Go to God in prayer.

Without Him

I am one of the worship leaders where I attend church, and there is a song that I like to sing and I would like to share it with you.

Without him I could do nothing, without him I'd surely fail. Without him I would be drifting like a ship without a sail.
Without him I would be dying, without him I'd be enslaved. Without him life would be hopeless, But with Jesus thank God I'm saved.
Jesus, oh Jesus. Do you know him today? You can't turn him away. Oh, Jesus!Oh, Jesus! Without him how lost I would be.

Something to think about isn't? Are you lost without Jesus?

Finding Contentment In Tough Times (Continued)

I would like to continue our thoughts from yesterday.Many times people are drawn into thinking that if they only had more earthly things they would be happy. but to those who study scriptures it becomes more apparent that contentment is found within. We should be happy and content with what we have. We should thank God for the things that we do have. Our jobs, our home, families, some people don't even have these. It's alway's nice to have,but it is alway's good to give to others who don't have. Remember the old saying it is better to give than to recieve!

Finding Contentment In Tough Times

To so many people contentment is based on the amount of things they possess or what others think of them. The challenge to the children of God is to be content in what ever circumstances in which they find themselves. When the times get tough contentment must come from a source within ourselves.

Saying Your Sorry

Have you ever had to tell someone your sorry? I have and I'm sure you have to. Saying your sorry sometimes is a hard thing to do. It may be over something we have said or something we have done. We as christians must watch what we say and do. When we are in the wrong we must be strong and say we are sorry. When we say were sorry we must also mean what we say. We have to be sincere in what we say. No matter how tough it may be to say your sorry say it and mean it. Then pray to God to give you strength to carry on.

Finding Wisdom In Tough Times

Having wisdom is having the ability to make wise choices. In tough times, more than any other it is necessary to make wise choices. Our God tells us to ask for wisdom and he will give it to us. When you get a chance through out your busy day read 2 Chronicals 1:9-12. We see how Solomon gave us an example of wisdom.Also look at James 1:5-8. In closing let me leave you with 3 questions.
1.If we lack wisdom what should we do?
2.When we ask then what must we do?
3.How is the man described who ask and doubt?

2 Peter 3:18

But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever. Amen

Rejoice

Today, I invite you to include these word's in your daily converstion.This is the day the lord as made, let us rejoice and be glad in it. You know every first Sunday of the month we go to a nursing home to sing. Today I had the previlige of giving the lesson today. the lesson I gave was just that, this is the day the Lord as made rejoice and be glad in it. As I was delivering that lesson today I looked out a window and I thought you know these people never hardly get outside and I am telling them to rejoice, and be glad that you are alive live life to the fullest, and do you know that they had a smile on there face. because I was telling them to be happy look around and see what the Lord as done for them. I enjoy going each month because I know some of them get no visits at all and that is sad. I have made friends with some of them there. So when you get up in the morning it's just not another day. It's the day the Lord as made rejoice and be glad in it.

Rejoice and be glad this is the day the lord as made rejoice and be glad in it!!!!!!!

John 14:15

We should do the great things God tells us to do! Our love for God is shown in our willingness to obey him. Love for God is not an emotional thing, it's an action thing- doing the tough task that only christians do.

John 14:13-14

We should ask God to do great things,through us.The power we have gets its start in prayer. These statements from Jesus couldn't be stated any more clearly. One thing to make sure of is the phrase "In Jesus name" isn't a magic tag we put at the end of our prayers. Its not a supernatural command that makes God work for us. To pray "in my name" means to pray for what Jesus would if He was saying the prayer.

Finding joy in tough times

One of the most difficult of all principles to understand is when it comes to standing straight in a warped world is that trials must come. How can a God that is supposed to love us allow so many bad things happen to us? I am sure we have all said these words or have heard them used by someone else when a tragedy occurs.
Think about that time when something bad happened to you or someone you love and how it made you feel.
1. Were you hurt or angry?
2.Were you confused.
3. How did you deal with the feelings?
4.Do you think that you dealt with them appropiately?
The bible teaches us that we need these trails in order to grow greater faith
