Burdens Are Lifted At Calvary / Part 4
Christians should never be carrying heavy burdens. Jesus has graciously offered to take those heavy burdens and give us His light one instead.
Let me give you a practical challenge to help you see how to exchange your burden for the one Jesus has for you. First, get some 3x5 cards and write down every burden that you're trying to carry around, one for each card. List all of them, big and small.
Then, categorize those burdens: Past, present or future. Which ones are things from your past: regrets, guilt? Which ones are fear of the future? And which ones relate strictly to today?
Then, go to the Word of God and find a verse to claim as a promise for each of those burdens. Write those verses on the opposite side of the card, and carry those cards with you. When that burden starts to grip your mind, whip out the cards and read (aloud if possible) the verse of Scripture God gave you.
And every time you feel yourself starting to take one of those old burdens up again, you can stop right where you are and by faith exchange it. Remember, you may have to go through the exchange process several times in a day. That's okay. The important thing is to keep exchanging, and eventually you're going to know real freedom from those heavy burdens as you discover that you can release your heavy burdens to Jesus. You shouldn't be trying to carry them. It's not what God intended for you.
And remember this, If it's not light, it's not right! That's how you know whether you're carrying the right burden or not. Jesus' burden is light. You can handle it. Don't let the enemy dump false guilt on you because your burden is light. Sometimes we feel guilty if we're not all worried and depressed, like we're not doing our part to help. Certainly you can be concerned, but what you can't do is carry that heavy burden. It's beyond you, so stop right where you are and exchange it for the light burden that Jesus wants to give you. Even in the midst of a problem, even when your heart is heavy, you can be free from the heavy burden, because you have a burden-carrier, the Lord Jesus, and He is waiting for you to give Him your heavy burden.

Burdens Are Lifted At Calvary / Part 3
Do you feel like you've got the weight of the world on your shoulders sometimes? The truth is, God never intended for His children to carry heavy burdens day after day.
Our burdens fall into three broad categories: guilt and cares from the past, worries and concerns about the present, and fear of the future. Past, present and future.
Think about your burdens. How many of them are a part of your past? Are you carrying things around that should be behind you? Philippians 3:13 says:But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
Isaiah 43:18 tells us to, Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.
See, I am doing a new thing! One reason many of us are carrying heavy burdens is because we haven't yet committed the past to the Lord. I know some of you have endured great pains in your past, but if you know Jesus as your Savior, He has the power to take that burden from your past and exchange it for His peace. Is some of your burden because of the future, because you don't know what the future holds?
Remember Jeremiah 29:11, For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.Yesterday with all its cares and frets, all its pains and aches, all its faults, mistakes and blunders, has passed forever beyond our recall. We cannot undo an act that we wrought nor unsay a word we said. Yesterday was ours. It is now God's!
And Tomorrow with all its possible adversities, its potential perils, its unknown paths and events, is as far beyond our mastery as Yesterday. It is a day of God's. It will be ours, but it is not yet.
Will you put down those heavy burdens from yesterday and tomorrow, and exchange them for Jesus' burden, which is light?
He never intended for you to carry that heavy burden, and He's just waiting for you to give it up to Him.

Burdens Are Lifted At Calvary / Part 2
Do you pack your worries to take with you to work? If you're a Christian, there is no excuse or reason for you to carry heavy burdens. Jesus has invited us to exchange our heavy burdens for His light one.
Maybe you carry those burdens because you feel you deserve them. And that may be true. But if we all got what we deserve, things would really be awful. We're dealing with a God of mercy and grace. He doesn't give us what we deserve. He gives out of His heart of love and kindness, and He's most willing to exchange your burdens for His.
All we have to do is just exchange-leave ours at the feet of Jesus and take His light burden in its place. You may wonder how you do that. It just seems too easy.
Well, exchange simply means "hand it over," "give it up," "drop it." You have to make a conscious decision that you will let it go-by faith. It takes faith on your part, and a set of your will to let go of that burden and choose not to carry it. You consciously relinquish your heavy burden and choose to believe that Jesus will keep His word and exchange it for you.
Remember, too, this is an act of your will, not your emotions. Do it by faith, regardless of what your emotions and feelings are saying to you.
In the place of worry, He'll give you peace. Instead of guilt, Jesus will give you forgiveness. Leave that heavy awful fear with Jesus and He'll give you joy and comfort in its place. And if you'll give up that low self-esteem, Jesus will give you His assurance and confidence.
Picture yourself with that heavy bag of burdens, dropping them at the feet of Jesus, and taking instead His burden, which is easy to carry. I encourage you to consciously relinquish your burden to Jesus, and take His in its place. You'll discover that His yoke is easy and His burden is light.

Burdens Are Lifted At Calvary / Part 1
Did you know that most people are lugging an invisible bag of burdens with them all the time: Over their shoulder, on their back, dragging along behind them. It saps their strength and destroys their joy, and damages their testimony for Christ as they constantly struggle with this bag of burdens.
Jesus told us that, "In this world we will have trouble." So, having troubles should come as no surprise. However, Jesus didn't stop with that dismal prediction. He added: "Take heart! I have overcome the world!" Our Savior has overcome the world and its troubles, and that means we don't have to carry heavy burdens with us.
A typical burden we Christians frequently carry around is worry. We worry about our family, our children, our parents. We worry about our job. We worry about our bills, where the money is coming from. We worry about our relationships and we worry about our health. Sometimes it seems some people will manufacture something to worry about, because they wouldn't know what to do if they weren't carrying that heavy burden called worry.
Many Christians carry around guilt, and that is a very heavy burden. Or fear. Fear of the future; fear that bad things will happen; fear that people won't like them; fear of failure; fear of being alone. I see so many Christians who are unhappy with who they are, feeling inadequate and unworthy.
Jesus told us in Matthew 11:28-29, Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. But so few of us really ever apply that verse to our lives. Here's a good thought to remember: If it's not light, it's not right. Christians should never carry heavy burdens, because we can always exchange our heavy, ugly burdens for Jesus' light one. He can carry your burdens for you, if you'll just put them down and exchange them for His.

Satan's Scheme's
In order that no advantage be taken of us by Satan; for we are notignorant of his schemes.2 Corinthians 2:11
I've noticed that many Christians are somewhat naïve about thedevices Satan uses to tempt us to follow him. The "harmless" office flirtation, the casual attitude toward immorality in the media-it'sas though we are unaware that such schemes can wreck our homes.
The world isn't going to issue warnings. If we are to stand the test,we will have to become more aware of Satan's tactics.
For instance, I've never seen a video rental store that placed warnings above certain movies: "Caution: This movie contains provocative material that could create an addiction to pornography, cause infidelity and violence and result in the loss of your dignity and family.
"There are times when I find I can be vulnerable to the enemy's schemes.
When I am alone. Like most people, I'm tempted when no one else is looking-when I'm away on a trip, isolated from those who know me.
When I'm with someone else who is willing to be a part of Satan's scheme. If the enemy can't get me when I am alone, he throws me with people who tempt me to gossip, or to go with the crowd-to be a people pleaser.
When I am tired. When I tire physically and emotionally, I become susceptible to erroneous thoughts about God, myself and others. I've learned that temptation is easier to withstand when I'm not "livingon the edge." I need to retreat periodically to allow God tore plenish my strength.
When I think I can justify my actions. I am constantly amazed at myability to rationalize wrong choices.I think there's a mistaken tendency to think that these schemes and temptations decrease as we grow older. Biblically and practically speaking.
The mistake is made when we drop our guards toseemingly "small temptations" and give the enemy an opportunity toget a foothold in our lives. "Be on the alert!"

The Teacher,Tommy,And The Little Girl
One day a 6 year old girl was sitting in a classroom. The teacher was going to explain evolution to the children. The teacher asked a little boy: Tommy do you see the tree outside?
TOMMY: Yes.
TEACHER: Tommy, do you see the grass outside?
TOMMY: Yes.
TEACHER: Go outside and look up and see if you can see the sky. TOMMY: Okay. (He returned a few minutes later) Yes, I saw the sky.
TEACHER: Did you see God up there?
TOMMY: No.
TEACHER: That's my point. We can't see God because he isn't there. Possibly he just doesn't exist.
A little girl spoke up and wanted to ask the boy some questions. The teacher agreed and the little girl asked the boy:
Tommy, do you see the tree outside?
TOMMY: Yes.
LITTLE GIRL: Tommy do you see the grass outside?
TOMMY: Yessssss!
LITTLE GIRL: Did you see the sky?
TOMMY: Yessssss!
LITTLE GIRL: Tommy, do you see the teacher?
TOMMY: Yes
LITTLE GIRL: Do you see her brain?
TOMMY: No
LITTLE GIRL: Then according to what we were taught today in school, she possibly may not even have one!
TOMMY: Yes.

A Gift
A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men. Proverbs 18:16
What is your gift? What are you good at? What is the thing that people say you’re good at? Before the foundation of the world, God placed the gift inside of you. You are to use that gift to benefit the kingdom of God.
Do you know you can change someone’s life with your gift? God has given each and everyone of us a gift or gifts and we have to move from where we are. Some of us know we have a gift but we sit idly. We do nothing with it. Some of us are afraid to move. Some of us are afraid to go places because we will be uncomfortable. God says to you today, “Don’t worry or be afraid. I am with you all the way”. God is saying to “take the limit off of me. You have tied up my hands with your unbelief. You have tied up my hands with your doubt”.
Some of us don't want to sacrifice or pay the price. We want everything given to us without having to work for it. The Bible says, “faith without works is dead”. Move from where you are. God wants to pour out a blessing that you don't have enough room to receive.
The very fact that your gift will make room for you means that God favors you. When you do what He has placed inside of you to do, He will open doors for you. You will go places and get positions that you aren't even qualified for because you are favored by God. Some of us are worried about money. Some of us don't know where to start. I say to you today to trust God. He didn't give you the gift for you to just work it out by yourself. Give your gift back to God. Allow Him to lead you and guide you in the direction He wants you to go.
God knows our hearts and He will make room for us once we move from where we are and trust Him. We also have to imagine and think the impossible. Think big. Dream big. You’ve got to see yourself going higher. Move from where you are. Do what God wants you to do. Go where He wants you to go. Move from your comfortable place. When you move watch the doors open for you.

Does God Test Us?
Yes. But it's always an open-Book test. With the help of God'sinstruction Book -- the Bible -- you can always pass the test.
1 THESSALONIANS 2:4 NKJ4 . . . even so we speak, not as pleasing men, but God whotests our hearts.
God doesn't test you to hurt you, but so you can experience victory. He walks in faith and believes you will win every test. He is like a proud parent who tells their child to "Go out there and show them what you can do," expecting them to win.
In all schooling there is testing to determine whether the material taught has been mastered.
Testing is necessary and even beneficial for the one being tested. You may think you're ready to graduate -- but testingconfronts you with reality.
Testing lets you know how you're doing. If you're not doing so well, turn to God, asking for His help. Spend more time in God's Word and in prayer.
Remember that God's tests are different than the temptations ofthe devil. God's test is whether you will act on His Word.
God never tempts you to do wrong! He never uses evil to test you (James 1:13). God just allows you to overcome evil by acting on His Word -- which is more than enough to put you over.
PSALM 105:19 NKJ19 Until the time that his word came to pass, The word of the Lord tested him.
You should always stand in faith, resisting the devil. God's Word always works -- but not always instantly. From when you take your stand on God's Word to when the answer manifests, constitutes the test.Remember, God is for you -- He's on your side.

What I've Learned
I've learned that we don't have to change friends,If we understand that friends change.
I've learned that something that you do in an instant, can give you heartache for life.
I've learned that you should always leave loved ones with loving words, it may be that last time you see them.
I've learned that we are responsible for what we do, no matter how we feel.
I've learned that either you control your attitude, or it controls you.
I've learned that my best friend and I - can do anything or nothing - and still have a good time.
I've learned that sometimes the people you expect to kick you when you are down, will be the ones who help you get up.
I've learned that sometimes when i am angry i have the right to be angry, but that doesn't give me the right to be cruel.
I've learned that just because someone doesn't love you the way you want them too, doesn't mean they don't love you with all they have.
I've learned that maturity has more to do with what types of experiences you've had and what you learned from them, and less to do with how many years you have lived.
I've learned that it isn't always enough to be forgiven by others, but sometimes you have to learn to forgive yourself.
I've learned that just because two people argue, doesn't mean they don't love each other. And just because they don't argue, it doesn't mean they do love each other.
I've learned that you shouldn't be so eager to find out a secret, it may change you life forever.
I've learned that sometimes the people that you love most in lfe, are taken from you too soon.
I've learned that you can't make someone love you. All you can do is be someone who can be loved, and the rest is up to them.
I've learned that no matter how much i care, some people just dont care back. SO TRUE!!!!
I've learned that it takes years to build up trust, and just seconds to destroy it.
I've learned that it's not what you have in life, but who you have that counts.
I've learned that you can keep going, long after you think you can't.
I've learned that their are people who love you dearly, but just don't know how to show it.
I've learned that even when you feel you have no more to give, a friend cries out and you find the strength to help them.
I've learned that our backgrounds and circumstances may have influenced our lives, but we are ultimately responsible for who we become.

Kid's Say The Funniest Things
A little boy was attending his first wedding. After the service, his cousin asked him, "How many women can a man marry?" "Sixteen," the boy responded. His cousin was amazed that he had an answer so quickly. "How do you know that?" "Easy," the little boy said. "All you have to do is add it up, like the pastor said, 4 better, 4 worse, 4 richer, 4 poorer."
----------------------------------------------------------------------After a church service on Sunday morning, a young boy suddenly announced to his mother, "Mom, I've decided to become a minister when I grow up." "That's okay with us, but what made you decide that?" "Well," said the little boy, "I have to go to church on Sunday anyway, and I figure it will be more fun to stand up and yell, than to sit and listen.">----------------------------------------------------------------------
A boy was watching his father, a pastor, write a sermon. "How do you know what to say?" he asked. "Why, God tells me." "Oh, then why do you keep crossing things out?"----------------------------------------------------------------------
A little girl became restless as the preacher's sermon dragged on and on. Finally, she leaned over to her mother and whispered, "Mommy, if we give him the money now, will he let us go?"----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ms. Terri asked her Sunday School class to draw pictures of their favorite Bible stories. She was puzzled by Kyle's picture, which showed four people on an airplane, so she asked him which story it was meant to represent. "The Flight to Egypt ," was his reply. Pointing at each figure, Ms. Terri said, "That must be Mary, Joseph, and Baby Jesus. But who's the fourth person?" "Oh, that's Pontius the pilot!"----------------------------------------------------------------------
The Sunday School Teacher asks, "Now, Johnny, tell me frankly do you say prayers before eating? "No sir," little Johnny replies, "I don't have to. My mom is a good cook."------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is the best one. A little girl was sitting on her grandfather's lap as he read her a bedtime story. From time to time, she would take her eyes off the book and reach up to touch his wrinkled cheek. She was alternately stroking her own cheek, then his again. Finally she spoke up, "Grandpa, did God make you?" "Yes, sweetheart," he answered, "God made me a long time ago." "Oh," she paused, "Grandpa, did God make me too?" "Yes, indeed, honey," he said, "God made you just a little while ago." Feeling their respective faces again, she observed, "God's getting better at it, isn't He?"

Honor Your Father And Mother Exodus 20:12
Honoring your parents is a command for children of all ages. There is no exception clause in this command that exempts the adult child from responsibility.
I can almost sense you starting to squirm in your seat. Honoring your parents seems risky.
Let me take a few moments to tell you what honoring your parents is, and what it isn't.
Honoring your parents does not mean endorsing irresponsibility or sin. It is not a denial of what they have done wrong as parents. It does not mean you flatter them by "emotionally stuffing" the mistakes they've made or denying the emotional or even the physical pain they may have caused you.
For an adult child, honoring your parents will not place you back under their authority. It does not give them access to manipulate you. It doesn't mean crawling back into the cradle and becoming a helpless child again.
Honoring your parents means choosing to place great value on your relationship with them.Honoring your parents means taking the initiative to improve the relationship.
Honoring your parents means obeying them until you establish yourself as an adult.
Honoring your parents means recognizing what they've done right in your life.Honoring your parents means recognizing the sacrifices they have made for you.
Honoring your parents means praising them for the legacy they are passing on to you.Honoring your parents means seeing them through the eyes of Christ, with understanding and compassion.Honoring your parents means forgiving them as Christ has forgiven you.It is an attitude accompanied by actions that say to your parents, "You are worthy. You have value. You are the person God sovereignly placed in my life."

Prayer Guidelines
Prayer is communication with God. Talking with Almighty God isthe greatest privilege you have.
God desires a growing relationship with you. Communication is essential for a relationship to develop. Involve God in everypart of your life: every decision and every action. In that sense you should pray without ceasing -- always being in communication with God.
However, we need special prayer times focused completely on theLord. He is worthy of our time and attention -- and we require this time with Him to develop spiritually.
Remember the instruction given in Psalm 100:4, "Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise."
Many use the model prayer our Lord gave in Matthew 6:9-13 as a guideline for their special daily prayer time. Some of the principles taught are:
*You are praying to your Father.
*First worship and honor God.
*Pray that God's will be done before praying about your own or others' needs.
*Ask for God's forgiveness and help.
*Finish by praising God.
During times of prayer many find it helpful as a memory aid to have a prayer list of people and things to pray for. Also, keeping a journal of your prayer requests and answers is beneficial and will bless you tremendously as the years go by.Always base your prayer on Scripture. Scripture is God's answer. Receiving from God in prayer involves taking His answer(His Word) to Him and receiving your request by faith.

God Spoke
Hebrews 4:12 Amplified Bible (AMP)12 For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart.
The Word of God is alive and powerful. You will find that the Word of God has the power to change life. God spoke and the earth was. You live in a world that exists because God spoke. So what do you think will happen when you put God's Words in your mouth. What will happen when you speak the living and active Word of God?
John 1:1 New International Version (NIV)1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
When you use God's Words you put God to work. Use God's Words and you will get God's results.
God spoke –I dare not listen.I could not face the stillness of simply being there.God spoke: there were no words –I simply saw the suffering of others.I could not share the stillness of simply being there. One day I knew God could not speak -I used my eyes, I saw and felt the suffering of multitudes –I listened to their cries –then cautiously I whispered“I am here”and from my helplessness I knew -that God was there.
